About Deborah Hamlin

Hi, I’m Coach Deb!

I enjoy conducting lots of cooking experiments, going to exercise classes, walking my dog, and sewing.

I despise the word “diet” and all the “food rules” that exist in our society. In my opinion, eating should be enjoyable and not complicated.

I love, love, love chocolate. It fuels my body daily.

I love watching people accomplish more than they ever dreamt possible as they bring energy to their lives through breath, food, rest, and exercise. Food is always a touchy subject, and in my practice, the word “diet” is never used. As research shows, “diets” don’t work and, in many cases, do more harm than good. Instead, I embrace Intuitive Eating. Intuitive Eating allows each person in the driver’s seat as they explore what foods and how much of those foods fuel their bodies. Calories, macronutrients, and portions sizes are no longer restricted; there are no bad or good foods when people learn to eat intuitively. Often, people who eat intuitively lose weight, have better blood sugar control, higher energy levels and a healthy relationship with food.

My Philosophy

No two people are alike. What works for one person will not work for another. That is why I use the process of coaching to help people achieve greatness. Through coaching, you decide what is best for you. I am here to guide you as you discover that deep within your self, you have the answers that are the key to your success. Together, we will identify your answers and then find a way to make them an integral part of your life.

My approach to uncovering energy in individuals is based on food science, nutrition science, intuitive eating, behavioral psychology, growth mindset, positive psychology, and the theory of energy management presented by John Lehr and Tony Schwartz in the book The Power of Full Engagement: Managing Energy, Not Time, Is the Key to High Performance and Personal Renewal along with insight that I have gained from working with people over the past 27 years.

I am a Registered Dietitian and hold a certificate in Intuitive Eating. I am a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the Diabetes Dietetic Practice Group, and Nutrition Entrepreneurs Dietetic Practice Group.

Additionally, I have a Master of Science degree in Organizational Development with an emphasis in leadership development and a graduate certificate in Conflict Management and Resolution from Abilene Christian University. I not only enjoy helping individuals to become well, but I also love watching organizations thrive as each employee becomes highly energized through the use of breath, food, sleep, and movement who join together to create a whole organization that is highly productive, energized, and happy accomplishing more than they ever dreamed possible. Traditional wellness programs that mainly focus on weight and exercise drain energy from the organization. I use wellness programs that bring energy to the organization.
